Our Projects

Three seeds, one soil.

Every Porto Seguro project answers a real need, confirmed together with the Cuban communities we work with. This is what support looks like, today and tomorrow.

Centro Cultura Entre las Manos

Culture needs no translation — it needs open hands.
We support Centro Cultura Entre las Manos and all of its programs, with special focus on strengthening the leadership of hearing and Deaf youth who train there as creators, organizers, and voices for their own community.

What the center is: A cultural space in Havana’s historic center, built around intercultural dialogue: it brings users of Cuban Sign Language (LSCu) closer to different areas of knowledge, and to the cultural life the city offers every day. Porto Seguro supports the Center in its entirety — every program it runs for the Deaf community, their families, and friends.

The youth leadership program: Within that work, one branch matters especially to us: strengthening the leadership of the young people who take part, hearing and Deaf alike, as they grow into the next generation of cultural voices in their community.

A growing scope: The Center’s programming has also evolved to welcome children with neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorder and ADHD — widening a space where everyone can learn, communicate, and grow together.

How we help: Our support takes the form of workshop materials, facilitator training, participation scholarships, and accessible equipment — with captions and sign-language interpretation built into every activity as the standard, not the exception.

Mango and Honey Farm — Youth Learning and Social Enterprise Campus

Creating opportunities for youth through education, innovation and social entrepreneurship.

This initiative aims to develop a learning and innovation campus where young people can acquire practical skills, explore new ideas and develop social enterprises.

Through hands-on learning, mentorship and international cooperation, participants will engage in agriculture, food production, culinary arts, hospitality, science, technology and sustainable development.

In collaboration with educational and community partners in Cuba and Canada, the initiative seeks to empower young people, foster entrepreneurship and create new pathways toward social and economic opportunity.

The farm provides the setting for practical learning, while its existing commercial mango operations remain independent of the educational campus.

Our mission is to develop people, create opportunities and nurture the next generation of innovators and social entrepreneurs.
